Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I am originally from Brooklyn. I lived in Madison for 25 years before moving to New Providence 2 years ago.
Child(ren) and Age(s)? Two girls who are 25 and 23 and my son who is 20.
Favorite things to do with your kids?
Even though they are older we still spend a lot of time with each other. We love to take walks, watch movies, try out new restaurants and absolutely love playing with our 2 adorable yellow labs!
Favorite places to eat & shop in the area?
We love living so close to the Short Hills Mall for quick shopping trips and our favorite restaurants are Trap Rock Restaurant in Berkeley Heights and Osteria Morini in Bernardville. In summer, we love to get acai bowls at The Juice House in New Providence!
Favorite form of self care?
Stretching! I leave a yoga mat out in my bedroom and doing this religiously every morning when I wake up and before I go to bed has really made a difference in how my body feels.
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
While my children were growing up I was very happy to be a stay at home mom raising them. In 2019 I became a certified Marie Kondo TM consultant, and founded my company Salt and Broom. I do both traditional home organizing and organizing via her method. I love working with my clients and seeing them literally transform the chaos of a busy home into a more serene, calm environment that aligns with their vision of who they want to be, and how they envision their spaces. It can be very hard for people to declutter without some guidance and some empathy. That’s where I come in and I’m honored to be a part of their journey!
If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be? To be ok with where ever you are in your current circumstance, and not compare yourself to others. It’s easy to feel completely uncomfortable, especially when you’re doing something new, so just stay focused on your endeavor!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
With all the latest technology at our hands, I’m still an old school girl and keep my calendar on a Filofax, writing in cursive, using color coded pens. I’ll never be converted!
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Since moving to New Providence, my children and I have discovered such a wonderful sense of community and have cultivated wonderful relationships with our new neighbors. We are indeed lucky!
