My son Sebastian is 5 and my daughter Violet is 2.5.

Outdoor activities such as the fairy trail in Millburn, South Mountain reservation and the turtle back zoo. Inside we like to paint and do science experiments.

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
In addition to being an elementary school art teacher, seven months ago my husband and I launched a company called SmocKit. We create art kits that unlock the imagination in every child. Each kit comes with everything you need for a fun filled and engaging project. A QR code brings you to a video demo and each lesson spotlights a famous artist.

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
If you have an idea or passion just get it out in the world. Don’t spend your time perfecting or doubting it.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I can throw a tight spiral.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I have been so lucky to be surrounded by friends, neighbors and business owners such as The General Store in Maplewood, who have been kind enough to try our products and share our story.
